Over Complicating Winter Cycling

viewsfromthebus:

really great thoughts on over spending on gear for winter riding

Really good article! Biking through Chicago winters always brought about people calling me “insane” and asking “but what do you wear?” …Well, layers. Just like you do when you walk or wait for a train or bus. Actually, probably less layers then most because I am generating a fair amount of heat from my own bod (and I’m not standing still and waiting). No need to spend loads of money! Just hop on that bike!

(also extremely thankful that my new city requires only a jacket or cardigan while riding in January.)
