”An immensely rare, 1950 model-year Porsche 356 pre-A (split-screen) Coupe with body-work by Reutter Karosserie, completed in February 1951, the year after production had moved from Gmund., chassis #5447 is among the first 500 cars produced from the first model-year of official Porsche production at Stuttgart, of which barely a handful remain complete and are still in running order.
MY mom bought a 1952 pre a 356 in the 70’s for 500 dollars from a “hippie eating a plate of spaghetti”. She met my dad in the same car, picked him up hitch hiking after seeing his 356 broke down on the side of the road. It was the first car i ever turned a wrench on and will be turning 60 years old soon. The car is still around, in fact the motor was just rebuilt, and the car just got a fresh coat of paint. My dad plans to trailer it to some shows in the future behind the 1955 Chevy station wagon we own together. cool parents.
Cole’s parents are, in fact, the coolest.
